Firecrest's Junior Devo Courses will be back on Aston Hill in 2010.

If you're aged between 10 – 18 and looking to get the most from you're mountain bike then Junior DeVo is for you. DeVo is short for Development and Firecrest's program of courses is one of the most progressive young rider training programs in the UK. Building on the essentials and making the most of the trails on Aston Hill. From the bomb holes to the 4X and the downhill's some of the fastest young riders in the UK have come through Aston Hills Junior DeVo Program.

We are planning a full program of courses look out for some dates in the Easter Break.

Firecrest MTB Courses @ The Trax

Two weeks in and Firecrest's mountain bike skills courses are going well at the The Trax at Lordship Rec in Tottenham, London. The five week program is funded by Mayor's Play Sport London programme. Firecrest are taking mountain bike skills training into the city and with more riders on session two joining those returning for more after session one, the program is proving popular.

Despite the cold everyone made the most of a morning polishing up the essentials before moving onto the BMX track and putting their new found skills to good use.

Whyte Winter Series Round 3 – 24 January 2010

Racing in Thetford Forest is always fast and furious and the third round of the Whyte Winter Series meant business as usual for 600 competitors. Even though it's still early in the season the leading contenders were already in fine form but for many racers it was a chance to stretch their legs for the first time in anger for 2010 around the rolling forest roads and single track of the forest.

Firecrest Athlete Graham Warby (Spirit Racing) made his racing come back after knee surgery at the end of the 2009 season. Picking up a hard earned 10th place and completing five laps in 2hrs 28mins.

The Junior Trax Cycling Skills – Lordship Rec – Tottenham

To welcome in the new year The Trax off road cycling club of Lordship Rec in Tottenham, North London are pleased to announce the launch of The Junior Trax skills course for 10 to 16 year olds.

The course consists of 5 free skills sessions in the Rec running every Saturday morning from the 6th Feb to the 6th March. Each session starts at 10am and finishes at 1pm. The courses are open for riders off all abilities. You don't have to attend all five sessions although it's recommended that you attend the first session if you are interested in coming on the others.

The course will show you practical bike maintenance techniques and develop your cycling skills. Looking at a range of skills from faster cornering, climbing and descending through to how to wheelie, bunny hop and jump. There will also be fun group activities and races. Everyone attending will receive a course certificate.

The course is made possible via a grant from Play Sport London and will be run in conjunction with top mountain bike skills instructors from Firecrest MTB and The Trax.
